A matter of respect Thursday, 07. April 2016
I am a speed junky. Definitely. That is also why I am impressed by cheetahs, the world’s fastest land animals. Due to the destruction of their natural habitat by human construction, clearing of vegetation, poaching and hunting, the preservation of their habitat in Africa is severely threatened. I want to set an example against this and to help with the situation: as Ambassador of the Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF).
This is why I regularly participate in elaborate training programmes and reintroduction projects, and try, with campaigns, advertisements (photo) and video shoots or as a designer, to draw global attention to this animal species, which is directly threatened with extinction.
And, of course, to attract as many people as possible to the cause. Handing-over of my specially designed cheetah helmet (photo) made for the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi was very special to me. Since then my gold helmet has been displayed in the new visitors’ centre of the CCF in Namibia.
“I would like my children to also be able to observe the fastest animals in the world in natural surroundings.”
